How is CLSI committee selection conducted? What is the timeline for its completion?
When the need for a new committee or changes to an existing committee are identified, CLSI undertakes its committee selection process.
Process steps and timeline estimates are outlined below.
- An open Call for Volunteers is issued. (30 days duration)
- Submitted nomination information is reviewed by CLSI staff to ensure completeness. As needed, requests for additional information are sent to applicants. (2-5 days)
- Complete nominations are assessed by the committee’s leadership (ie, chairholder, vice-chairholder, staff program manager) and volunteer selections are made.
- Expert Panel applications are further reviewed and approved by CLSI Executive Leadership and the Consensus Council.
- Appointment decisions are communicated to applicants within 8 weeks of the close of the call for applications.
